Employers need medical communicators with pinpoint skills (writing and editing), but those same employers often recognize, and appreciate, the value of deep, general skills. Someone who can make sense of information and adapt and incorporate new skills. Someone who can stretch their own, and our collective, definition of "medical communicator."
Medical communicators might interview world-renowned researchers, write research articles or prepare slide presentations, create marketing materials, or meet with patients to discuss materials educating them about a surgical procedure. The reward is that these contributions can make all the difference in someone's life. |
